5 things... I've discovered since I've been broke...

As I am weening myself off my recent Magic Money addiction things at the moment are a little tight. I’m having to give up my days in coffee shops for days in the flat that nobody lovves, and night out are sober and in a recycled outfit. But it isn’t all doom gloom, in fact here are 5 things I am enjoying about being skint… Continue reading →

what I learnt from an hour with Kanye West...

Last night I did something I never thought I would do… I sat for a whole hour and listened to Kanye West…rant. Continue reading →

50 states of grey...

After possibly the girliest day I have ever had at the Spa on Friday, last night came something entirely different.

magic money...

After posting yesterday about how relaxed and zen like I felt from taking a spa day, well, that lasted all of 5 hours.

finding the zen...

I am a stress head, if you are a regular reader, this won’t come as all that big of a shock to you.
A friend of mine once asked if I ever just sat and stopped thinking?
No, no I don’t, I didn’t even know that was possible. Continue reading →

Last night it was time for a little life administration, a phrase coined by marvellously organised friend Hannah! Continue reading →

Ally Mcbeal is one of my best friends...

This next post is not going to be ground breaking. This next post is going to be about Ally McBeal. Continue reading →

there's something in the air...

I returned to Manchester yesterday to find winter. People in woolly jumpers, hiding from the rain, running to meet one another.
There was also an energy in the air.
An energy which is making me and so many of my friends think of cosy nights in, of wearing somebody else’s woollen jumper. And probably of fireworks. Continue reading →

it's not a race but...

If it was my little sister is winning…
4 years has always felt like just the right amount of time between me and my little sister.
It’s a big enough gap to mean, we were never into or experiencing the same things at the same time, and besides, we were and still are pretty different any way. Continue reading →

the life project week 5: a little bit of excitement goes a long way...

A lot of exciting things have happened this summer, and now September is here, it would be easy to quickly become nostalgic about the longer nights, the extra glasses of cider and the tan lines (sun burn marks) but really it's just the beginning...

the thing that happened...

A couple of months ago this blog started to get a lot more personal, and once or twice I have mentioned, how something happened that made me look at everything that was going on, and question it, over and over again.

I think it might be time to talk about the thing that happened...

1 September 2013

the mysterious case of the disappearing bar man...

I met the bar man a number of months ago now. Not surprisingly, in the bar at which he worked. He is tall, tallness is a thing for me, instantly gets my attention. I couldn't tell you much else about how he looks because other than that first meeting, I've never seen him in person.

the life project week 3: not the foodie blog...

Gluten Free White Chocolate and Coconut Macaroon
from The Black Medicine Cafe in Edinburgh.
Last week I promised you all a foodie blog as an update on how I'm getting on with the gluten free challenge and The Life Project...

This is not that blog, for 1 very good reason...

the lucky ones...

When I was about 19, my mum told me that I had always been lucky.

At the time I was a little offended but I knew where she was coming from.

The Life Project: Week 1

Fact: Chameleons (probably) don't like gluten free brownies...

When I was 8 I completed a class project about chameleons. I'm not sure why I chose chameleons but I'm guessing it had something to do with the fact that I had a magazine with an impressive picture of a chameleon on the front and a handy article listing some interesting things about chameleons in.
