the real headliners of galtres parklands festival...

I've just got back from performing at Galtres Parklands Festival and here are my favourite things from the weekend...

1. Maximo Park

These guys were actual headliners, on the Saturday night, and they sound like my youth (or how my youth sounded 5 years ago). I loved every minute of their set, or at least I think I did, a LOT of serious-peoples alcohol had been consumed by then.

2. Patchouli Fair
The lovely woman who runs Patchouli Fair clothing had a STUNNING pop up shop at the festival, all her wrap dresses were gorgeous, and perfect with wellies. And they were discounted, so it would have been rude not to have bought the dress above really. You can shop online here.

3. Ambiente Tapas

Tapas. In a Wrap. A Gluten Free wrap. Served by attractive men. Just saying. They have restaurants in York and Leeds, so go gander.

Dance, sway, and sing along because if you don't know the words at the beginning of the song you will by the end. I first saw Hope&Social at Leaps first Pub Culture event, so was pretty chuffed to see them again on a much bigger scale.

5.  Delicousness Tea Shop

Yes, food again, but this is a vintage tea room that operates out of a camper van. And their Chocolate Cake... is Gluten Free and possibly the best cake I've had this summer.

6. The Arts Barge

The Arts Barge, is essentially what is says on the tin, arts on a barge, except when it is at a festival, then it's arts in a tent, decorated with lovely furniture and bits and a brilliant place to dance to the blues. If you are in the Yorkshire area do have a look at the project properly. And basically EVERYONE that was on their line up.

7. Pirates

Bit of a self indulgent one this one, because I happened to be working and performing in the pirate village all weekend, and every one that I was there with were beautiful and wonderful people.

Pirates - not really a recommendation, BUT, plenty of brilliant stories to go around about them AND stripy socks look cute with wellies.

And that's basically my weekend summed up, for more info about Galtres festival, take a look here.
